These crackers are so thin, so easy to make, so crisp ready to use for a cheese party or a dip spread them with a soft cheese, tuna spread,guacamole, salsa's, almond butter ....
Here is my step by step recipe. Even my kids can make them.
What we like is that these crackers are home made and you know how and what is in them. No Preservatives or extra ingredients we can't read !
Store them in an air-tight container .... if they are left over
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups (5 0z.) 100% whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tbs. honey or sugar
1/2 tsp salt, you will need some for the top also
1/4 tsp of paprika
4 tbs. butter
1/4 cup water +2 Tbs.if your mix is dry adjust
NOTE: lets say you want to add
- garlic powder
- dried rosemary
- add really any flavor you like
- even a cheese make them sharper tasting
- like a good cheddar grated
- parmigiano, peccorino ....go for it!

Procedure
preheat oven to 400 F
line two baking sheets with parchment paper
or if you have a non stick mat
In a large bowl, place your flour, sugar, paprika, salt
(at this point any other dry herb ingredient) and
whisk together well.

Using a pastry blender of a fork or use your hands to cut in the butter until it resembles a crumbly mixture
Now add in water and vanilla
(at this point any grated cheese you choose)
Stir till this mixture use your hands, to form a ball if at this point the mixture is dry then add a tbsp. or water to help this come together but you do not want it sticky.
To manage dough better slip in half.
On a well floured surface or non stick mat, roll out the half dough one at at a time about 1/6 inch this, I used a pizza cutter so they look like the ones you buy, lifting them up with a spatula place them on the sheet.
I cut them like the store bought ones in a square, and don't worry if they are not even, remember you can cut them in any shape you like even bigger
Bake for 8-10 min remember watch your oven we all have different temps, they can burn easy, then half way between the 8-10 in turn them cooking them another 8-10 min, watch them when they turn golden on the edges they are Done!
For crisper crackers just leave them after cooked in the oven till cool down.
The recipe makes from 50 to 60 small crackers but varies as you choose the size you cut them into.
